"Journey to Ancient Civilizations" – an immersive show that brings history to life with modern technologies, is already waiting for you!

A new phase begins at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, based on scientific research and cultural-educational projects. Through an immersive show titled "Journey to Ancient Civilizations," a new way of perceiving the ancient past will be presented to the audience using modern technologies.

As part of the project, an in-depth scientific study of the cultural heritage of five significant pre-Islamic civilizations — Khwarezm, Bactria, Sogdiana, Shash, and Fergana — is being conducted. In the first phase, historical sources related to ancient cities, writing systems, architecture, culture, and social life of these regions will be studied, to bring this data to life through digital technologies.

The coordinator of the "Pre-Islamic Civilizations" section, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Mirsodik Iskhakov, expressed the following opinion:

— This immersive show is remarkable in that it presents history in a modern interpretation. When local and foreign tourists visit the museum, they can enjoy how history is presented in a contemporary format. The main idea of the immersive show is to bring ancient history to life in the digital space, allowing not only to see it but also to feel it. Visitors will be able to feel as if they are in an ancient palace of Bactria or at a market in Sogdiana. The scenes, created using VR (virtual reality), 3D modeling, sound effects, and interactive elements, are being developed on a scientific basis. It is not only the study of history but also the experience of it. This project, aimed at providing a comprehensive overview of various stages of Uzbekistan's history, contributes to enhancing the tourist potential of our country. Especially for foreign tourists, this approach will be unique, and presenting history through modern aesthetics will leave a profound impression.
