“Presenting Islamic civilization in a unified and systematic space is a unique opportunity”
Representatives of Malta, Switzerland, and Kyrgyzstan familiarized themselves with the exhibitions of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and described it as an important space serving intercultural dialogue and the preservation of historical memory.
During their visit to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, located in Tashkent, foreign guests from Malta, Switzerland, and the Kyrgyz Republic became closely acquainted with the rich historical, scholarly, and cultural heritage that connects Eastern and Western civilizations. As they explored the Center’s main exhibition halls, overall concept, and thematic content, the guests received detailed information about the scholarly and spiritual heritage formed on the territory of Uzbekistan, as well as the contribution of Islamic civilization to global development.
Erkin Bek, founder of the organizations “All Here” and “World Meditation” (Switzerland), stated:
“I consider this Center to be a unique and unparalleled opportunity to demonstrate the global significance of Islamic civilization. There are moments in history when the preservation of cultural heritage and a deep understanding of the intellectual contribution of Islamic civilization to world development become especially vital.
This initiative put forward by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, coincides precisely with such a historically significant and critical period. I sincerely congratulate your President and your people on the realization of such a grand megaproject. Islamic civilization possesses a vast, profound, and incomparable history. Bringing it together in a single space and presenting it in a systematic way encourages people to study this rich heritage more deeply. This Center can play an important role in the cultural, intellectual, and spiritual development of Uzbekistan, Central Asia, and the entire region, and make a worthy contribution to the global understanding of Islamic civilization. I was particularly intrigued by the exhibition depicting Amir Timur playing chess. As a chess enthusiast, I clearly understand the symbolic meaning of Amir Timur playing chess with envoys from different countries. It symbolizes strategic thinking, foresight, and the ability to make long-term decisions. The Second Renaissance section left a very strong impression on me. It vividly reflects the period when Uzbekistan and the entire region experienced a time of flourishing and became powerful centers of science and culture. The transition from the pre-Islamic period to the First Renaissance and then to the Second Renaissance is presented in a consistent and profound manner. This section became the most memorable and favorite part for me.”
Zina Kurmanova, representative of the Republic of Malta, noted that a unique cultural space has been created at the Center where history, science, and modern approaches are harmoniously combined.
Zina Kurmanova, representative of the Republic of Malta, said:
“I was truly amazed to see that a unique place has been created here where history, science, and modern approaches are brought together in harmony. This Center reveals the authentic, deep, and rich history of Islamic civilization. Every hall and every exhibit makes you reflect, inspires awe, and awakens a sense of pride. When you come here, you do not just see history you feel it. Thank you to your President for creating such a unique cultural space. The establishment of such a Center is an invaluable spiritual legacy not only for the present generation, but also for future generations. Visiting this place was a great honor and an unforgettable experience.”
At the conclusion of the visit, the guests described the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan as an important platform for promoting intercultural dialogue, preserving historical memory, and expanding scholarly cooperation. They emphasized that such initiatives further strengthen Uzbekistan’s cultural and spiritual standing on the international stage.
