Head of the Iran Mercantile Exchange: “Here, history can not only be seen, but also felt”

A delegation led by the Chief Executive Officer of the Iran Islamic Republic Mercantile Exchange Company, Seyed Javad Jahromi, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, located in Tashkent.

The visit was organized to closely familiarize the delegation with the Center’s activities, the content of its exhibitions, and its scientific and educational directions.

As the guest toured the Center’s exhibitions, special attention was paid to historical heritage samples embodying national and universal values within the sections dedicated to pre-Islamic civilizations, the formation and development of Islamic civilization, the First and Second Renaissance periods, as well as the “New Uzbekistan – the Foundation of a New Renaissance.”

The exhibitions present the stages of the region’s development in science, enlightenment, statehood, and culture through modern museum technologies.

During the visit, the rare manuscripts preserved at the Center particularly manuscript copies of the Holy Qur’an from different periods, works of prominent scholars of Islamic sciences, and historical documents aroused great interest among the guests. The scientific grounding of the exhibitions and their consistent and precise presentation of historical realities were highly praised.

Sharing his impressions of the Center’s activities, Seyed Javad Jahromi highly commended the large-scale efforts undertaken by the leadership of Uzbekistan to preserve, study, and present historical and cultural heritage to the global community. According to him, this Center serves not only Uzbekistan, but the entire region by strengthening shared historical memory and enhancing mutual understanding and spiritual closeness among peoples.

“This visit left a profound impression and great admiration on me. Indeed, special gratitude should be expressed to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for the exceptional attention and investment devoted to establishing and developing this Center. This exhibition inspires a sense of pride and dignity, as it clearly demonstrates the remarkable achievements this region has attained in science since ancient times, as well as its invaluable contribution to the development of world civilization. Achievements in geography, medicine, and many other fields are presented in a clear and accessible manner. The manuscripts preserved at the Center are extremely rare and priceless, and the Holy Qur’an and its manuscript copies from various periods left a deep impression. The manner in which historical processes are presented is exceptionally well-structured, scholarly, and precise,” said Seyed Javad Jahromi, Chief Executive Officer of the Iran Mercantile Exchange Company.

The guest also noted that the deep historical, cultural, and spiritual commonalities between Uzbekistan and Iran are vividly reflected in the Center’s exhibitions. He emphasized that these shared foundations provide a solid basis for further developing cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as for implementing joint scientific research and educational projects between the two countries.
