Pakistan Delegation: “The Islamic Civilization Center is a place where history and technology converge”
The Pakistan delegation visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and became closely acquainted with the vast historical, scholarly, and spiritual heritage gathered there. The guests toured the sections “Pre-Islamic Period,” “First Renaissance,” “Second Renaissance,” “New Uzbekistan — the Foundation of a New Renaissance,” as well as the Qur’an Hall, and highly praised the advanced technologies used at the Center, including 3D reconstructions, artificial intelligence–based interactive content, rare archaeological discoveries, and scientifically grounded exhibitions.
Rana Ihsan Afzal, Coordinator for Trade at the Prime Minister’s Office of Pakistan, expressed his impressions of the Center with admiration and recognition:
“I have never seen a Center like this anywhere in the world. When you enter here, it feels as if you are traveling through different periods of history. The 3D scenes, multimedia presentations, and scholarly explanations bring the past vividly before your eyes. Uzbekistan’s ability to bring together centuries of scientific heritage in one place and present it in a modern interpretation is a truly remarkable achievement.”
He also emphasized that the historical closeness between the two nations, dating back to the Mughal period, is becoming even stronger at the current stage of cooperation:
“Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations have now reached a new stage. The volume of trade, transport, and diplomatic cooperation is increasing year by year. The launch of direct air routes between Bukhara and Pakistan is a vivid example of this process.”
Tahir Farooq, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Ittеhad media group and a member of the delegation, described the Center as a major educational project that can serve as a model for the international scholarly community:
“Uzbekistan has not only preserved its history, but has also managed to bring it to life for a new generation in the most modern way. There is knowledge in every hall, and every exhibition opens a new page of the past. Such a harmonious combination of artificial intelligence and multimedia technologies helps to understand history more deeply.”
The guests particularly recognized the rare manuscripts in the Qur’an Hall, the legacy of great scholars, the consistently scientific foundation of the Center’s concept, and its educational spirit. According to the delegation members, the Islamic Civilization Center is a “unique treasury that brings history to life and harmoniously combines knowledge and technology,” and it deserves wide promotion on a global scale.
