Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross highly praised the Islamic Civilization Center
Representatives of the Central Asia Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, established on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Uzbekistan consistently pursues policies aimed at expanding cooperation with international organizations in the humanitarian sphere, protecting human rights, and supporting social and educational reforms.
Members of the delegation from nine countries, along with regional representatives and experts, toured this unique complex that harmoniously combines historical and cultural heritage with modern technologies. They became thoroughly acquainted with the Center’s exhibitions, multimedia presentations, ancient manuscripts, archaeological findings, digitized sources, and interactive sections.
During the tour of the Center, the guests were presented with comprehensive information covering the period from early civilizations through the First and Second Renaissances, Islamic sciences, and the heritage of Uzbek scholars.
At the conclusion of the visit, Biljana Milosevic, Head of the Central Asia Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, shared her impressions:
“This is our first visit to the Center, and I must honestly say that I am truly impressed by what I have seen here. The exhibitions are not only academically grounded but are also designed in a very modern and impactful way. Through the interactive sections, you feel as if you are stepping into history itself.
Most importantly, this place is a sacred space that elevates the value of humanity’s heritage and promotes the ideals of peace and mutual respect. I express my gratitude to the people of Uzbekistan and to the President for such a monumental project.”
Zhalya Azizova, Regional Coordinator of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, also shared her impressions:
“The architectural solution of the Center, the concept of the halls and corridors, and the step-by-step presentation of historical periods are extremely impressive. The professional way in which the processes from pre-Islamic monuments to the Eastern Renaissances are presented deeply inspired me.”
During the visit, the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation recognized the Center not only as a major scientific and educational institution but also as one of the significant projects in the field of cultural diplomacy. According to the delegation members, the Islamic Civilization Center serves as a vivid example of Uzbekistan’s open, enlightened, and humanitarian policy on the global stage.
