Face to face with history: Syrdarya region delegation at the Islamic Civilization Center
Representatives of the Syrdarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies and staff of the council administration visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. Organized within the framework of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the Syrdarya region, this trip became not only an educational visit for the delegation but also an important cultural event that helped them gain a deeper understanding of the priceless history and civilizational heritage of our country.
The Center’s rare manuscripts, valuable artifacts, interactive exhibitions, and centuries-old scholarly and intellectual heritage left a strong impression on the delegation members. The guests familiarized themselves in detail with the history of the Center’s creation, the large-scale projects implemented on the President’s initiative, and the concept of the exhibitions.
Pokiza Ahmadjonova, Chairwoman of the Syrdarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies, Senator:
“From the moment we entered the Center, our sense of amazement has known no bounds. We have visited many museums around the world, but the greatest impression here was how the grandeur of our past and the magnificence of our present are reflected together. The achievements in science, crafts, and culture created by our ancestors since the Stone Age are revealed through modern technologies in such a way that it feels as if you are in dialogue with Ulugh Beg, Ibn Sina, or Beruni. Each time we entered a hall, we felt the spirit of that era.
Our main conclusion is that today’s youth must deeply feel the great legacy left by our ancestors. For this, a book or a lesson alone is not enough. Such a place where history can be seen with one’s own eyes, felt, and lived within was truly necessary. I express my sincere gratitude to our President for this initiative, because this Center has become a unique sanctuary that showcases the great past of our people not only to Uzbekistan, but to the entire world. It is no coincidence that many heads of state and foreign delegations have visited this place.”
The deputies particularly emphasized the Center’s immense importance in educating youth, enhancing spiritual maturity, and promoting historical truth accurately, describing the Islamic Civilization Center as a vital foundation of New Uzbekistan’s spiritual advancement.
Mukhsin Khodjiev, Rector of Gulistan State University:
“Thanks to the efforts, ideas, and political will of our esteemed President in creating this Center, today we have the opportunity to understand our history more deeply. I am confident that the Islamic Civilization Center will grow into a major scholarly school in the future and will serve to enrich the knowledge and worldview of our youth.”
Ravshanbek Mahmudov, Professor at Gulistan State University, Deputy:
“At the Islamic Civilization Center, we saw many new and remarkable things. For the first time, we witnessed the Samanid state, the Kushan state, ancient manuscripts, lithographic works, and rare examples of craftsmanship presented so comprehensively. Every exhibit has its own essence and its own lesson.
Taking this opportunity, I express my deep gratitude to our esteemed President, who led the establishment of this Center. Through their efforts, today we stand face to face with history.”
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation members expressed their appreciation for the attention shown and the high level of organization, recognizing the Center’s activities as an invaluable source of significance for national development and the enlightenment of the younger generation.
