The Central Asia Director of Germany’s “Hanns-Seidel” Foundation: “A scientific and educational institution harmonized with the modern world”

Built on the initiative of our President, the Islamic Civilization Center is increasingly drawing global attention as a unique scientific and educational institution that connects the refined intellectual heritage of the East, polished over centuries, with the modern world.

In this context, the visit of a delegation led by Konstantin Blaschke, the Central Asia Director of Germany’s Hanns-Seidel Foundation, underscored the Center’s growing international reputation. A guided tour was organized for the guests, providing information about the Center’s scientific directions, manuscript heritage, and modern interactive exhibitions.

Members of the delegation became closely acquainted with ancient manuscripts, the scholarly schools of great scholars, the achievements of the Second Renaissance period of the 14th–15th centuries, the role of Central Asian scientific traditions, and the approaches used in contemporary research.

Konstantin Blaschke, Central Asia Director of the Hanns-Seidel Foundation:

“The exhibits, historical artifacts, and their scholarly explanations here left a very strong impression on us. What is presented here is not only the history of Uzbekistan it reflects the science, intellectual heritage, and historical developments of the entire Central Asian region on the path of Islam. For us, this has been an exceptionally valuable experience.”

Konstantin Blaschke also emphasized the conceptual significance of the Center:

“The fact that this Center was established on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev makes it even more meaningful. The Center plays a major role in presenting the region’s scholarly heritage to the world on a scientific basis. The history preserved here is the spiritual and intellectual foundation of our present. I sincerely congratulate your President and your nation on the realization of such a major project.”

During the meeting, opportunities for jointly studying manuscripts, organizing international conferences, developing scientific exchange, and launching expert-level projects were discussed.

Today, the Islamic Civilization Center is making significant progress toward its mission harmonizing the scientific heritage of the East with modern intellectual thought and presenting it on the global stage.
