The delegation of the French Armed Forces was impressed by Uzbekistan’s approach to preserving cultural heritage
Mysterious manuscripts, digitized artifacts, and technologies that bring history back to life are generating great interest not only among diplomats, but also among representatives of the armed forces of European countries, inspired by the initiative and vision of the President of Uzbekistan.
The mega project in Uzbekistan the scientific and educational direction, digitized exhibitions, and rich cultural heritage of the Islamic Civilization Center, established on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been drawing the attention of the international community. The growing number of high-level delegations visiting the Center is further strengthening its reputation as an important scientific and cultural hub for the country and the entire region.
A delegation consisting of representatives of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces and the Directorate of International Relations of the Ministry of Defense visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the guests closely acquainted with the Center’s main exhibition, digitized artifacts, the gallery of rare manuscripts, and historical sources preserved in its scientific collections. Jerome Chevalet, Acting Director for the European and Euro-Atlantic Region in the International Relations Department of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces, First-Class Captain, shared his impressions as follows:
“The main advantage of the museum is that all collections are presented in a meaningful and well-organized manner within a single scientific and cultural space. Each exhibit is accompanied by precise explanations, and its historical value and cultural significance are thoroughly highlighted. I sincerely congratulate your President and the entire people of Uzbekistan on the realization of such a large-scale and important project.”
The Center’s connections with the global scientific community, the technologies used to preserve historical sources, and areas of scientific cooperation with various countries attracted the guests’ attention. French military specialists described the Center as “a unique scientific institution in which the most important layers of Islamic history are embodied in a modern interpretation” and highly recognized Uzbekistan’s approach to preserving cultural heritage.
