New directions in cultural and scientific cooperation: dialogue between the leadership of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and IRCICA

On 24 November, in Istanbul, the Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and Chairman of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU), Firdavs Abdukhalikov, held a working meeting with the Director-General of IRCICA, Mahmud Erol Kilic, the international research institution under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

IRCICA is an international scientific and research center of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, uniting 57 countries.

During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the effective and long-standing cooperation between IRCICA and the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and emphasized its important role in strengthening mutual ties in the fields of science and culture.

Within the framework of the meeting, an agreement was also reached to implement a major project proposed by IRCICA to create a multi-volume Encyclopedia dedicated to the great Islamic scholars who lived in the history of Uzbekistan.

In the near future, it is planned to hold the first joint meeting in Tashkent to select authors for this project, form a scientific council, and develop a working concept for this large-scale publication.

In addition, IRCICA put forward an initiative to prepare a special book-album dedicated to the reforms, cultural and educational initiatives being implemented in the country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as projects carried out in cooperation between IRCICA and Uzbekistan in recent years.

At the end of the meeting, Firdavs Abdukhalikov invited Mahmud Erol Kilic to the ceremonial opening of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, to be held in March 2026.
