“There is national pride in every detail” — Xinhua professor shared an unexpected opinion about the Center
Scholars from Tsinghua University stated that during their visit to the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent, they felt as if they were “walking inside history” and described the Center as a new scientific and educational miracle of the East.
The Tsinghua University delegation Professor of Security Sciences Du Peng and staff member of the Institute of Security Sciences Peng Xiaohui visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.
Professor Du Peng expressed his thoughts as follows:
“This place is truly magnificent. Behind every detail lies deep respect for your history and national pride. While visiting the Center, I once again felt the Silk Road that has connected China and Uzbekistan for centuries. Such a scientific and educational institution further strengthens cultural and technological cooperation between the two peoples.”
He also described the Center, built on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as a major step in preserving, studying, and presenting humanity’s historical heritage to world science. According to the professor, the Center will become an important academic source not only for Uzbekistan or Central Asia, but for the whole of Asia and researchers worldwide.
Tsinghua University representative Peng Xiaohui emphasized that the digitization of historical processes, interactive solutions, and the use of visual technologies stand out in the Center:
“This complex presents history not as a document, but as a living experience. The great spirit that once connected East and West along the Silk Road is felt here again in a vivid way,” he said.
He also noted that in the Center’s exhibitions, the policy of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on preserving and promoting cultural heritage is manifested in practical results.
The guests reviewed the rare manuscripts, copies of the Qur’an, and scientific archives at the Center and highly assessed their significance and level of preservation.
“Every exhibit here, every color and light is presented with respect for culture,” emphasized Peng Xiaohui.
At the end of the visit, the Chinese delegation described the Islamic Civilization Center as “a unique innovative scientific and educational institution in the region that presents the heritage of Eastern civilization through modern scientific approaches.”
The parties expressed their intention to expand cooperation in the areas of joint projects on historical research, exchange of professors and researchers, digital exhibitions, and modern educational technologies.
