A Turkmen scholar revealed Central Asia’s highly significant historical discoveries
Muhammad Mamedov, a representative of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, emphasized that the establishment of the Islamic Civilization Center creates vast opportunities for scientific research, the study of ancient civilizations, and the preservation of cultural heritage in the region.

Muhammad Mamedov, representative of the President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan:
“I would like to express my gratitude to the organizers of this great forum and congratulate our Uzbek friends, as well as the creative and scientific intelligentsia of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, on the establishment of the Islamic Civilization Center.
Islamic civilization is both culture and art, yet today it has not been fully evaluated or studied. Many of its important humanitarian aspects are still undiscovered. In the future, all of us will pay great attention to this matter.
Central Asia is a unique region with an incredibly ancient history. Every year, archaeologists reveal new, highly significant discoveries — long-lost ancient civilizations and the spiritual heritage of our peoples have often been discussed.
But we must not forget that our peoples also left behind a vast material and cultural heritage, including architecture. Every year, unique artifacts are found in our countries. Therefore, in the future, we must do extensive work in this field.
Under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, His Excellency Serdar Berdimuhamedov, great attention is being paid to preserving and studying the nation’s rich cultural heritage. A Presidential program is in force for researching, protecting, and promoting historical and cultural monuments, and within its framework, large-scale archaeological excavations are being conducted. These excavations consistently show that the roots of the cultures of Central Asian peoples particularly that of Turkmenistan reach deep into ancient history.
The Bronze Age, in particular, provides us with a great deal of important information. Therefore, considering the establishment of this remarkable Center, I believe that in the future we must cooperate closely in studying and preserving our rich cultural heritage.
I wish you all success in this noble work, and I hope that we will meet many more times within the walls of this Center to exchange ideas about our spiritual and material heritage.”
