“The beauty, grandeur, and professionalism here amazed me,” – Kuwaiti collector

Mahmoud Abdulkhaliq an-Nuri, Collector (Kuwait):
Throughout my life, I have visited numerous museums in countries such as the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Hungary, and Egypt. However, the beauty, grandeur, and high level of professionalism here truly amazed me and left a deep impression. It is rare to find such a perfectly organized cultural institution anywhere in the world.
Uzbekistan and Kuwait have shared sincere bonds of friendship and brotherhood for centuries. As a symbol of this relationship, I presented two books from my personal collection to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. These publications feature a collection of gold and silver coins spanning from the early periods of Islamic history to the end of the Mamluk dynasty. I am confident that these books will further enrich the library’s already magnificent and academically distinguished collection.
Some of the coins in my collection are connected to Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent — they are historically rare and invaluable specimens.
I would like to emphasize one important point: a museum of such high caliber and its rich library are a vivid reflection of the strength of the Uzbek people, who have preserved their spirituality and culture throughout history despite all trials. Even when the Mongols destroyed Samarkand and Bukhara, this nation, with its inner resolve and thirst for knowledge, managed to restore these cities in an even more beautiful and flourishing state.
Therefore, the establishment of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is a living embodiment of the country’s spiritual revival and its profound respect for knowledge and culture.
