“This Center is a new symbol of knowledge and enlightenment” — Gulu Novruzov

Professor Gulu Novruzov, Rector of the Academy under the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, shared his impressions about the Islamic Civilization Center being established in Uzbekistan:
It is a great honor and pride for me to visit the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, located in Tashkent. This place reveals how rich the culture and scientific heritage are not only of Uzbekistan but of the entire Turkic-Muslim world.
Here, the stages of science and culture from the pre-Islamic period to the present day are embodied. In particular, the presentation of life from the era before written sources emerged, through archaeological discoveries, is a major scientific achievement. The exhibits related to the ancient textile culture also aroused great interest in me.
The Center, initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is an unparalleled project that reflects the deep respect of the country’s leadership for science and enlightenment.
I intend to visit this place again in the future with my family. I am confident that Azerbaijani scholars and cultural figures will also become honored guests of this Center.
This institution is a vivid symbol of our shared history and spiritual roots.
