“Spiritual heritage and enlightenment in Central Asia”: Uzbekistan to host a major international event
At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, this prestigious international spiritual and educational congress is expected to welcome the participation of the heads of state from Central Asian countries.
The international congress titled “Spiritual Heritage and Enlightenment in Central Asia” is bringing together nearly 300 representatives of science, art, culture, and education, as well as researchers and scholars from across the region under one shared purpose.
This event represents a significant step toward uniting the cultural and historical heritage of the region an initiative led by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It aims to demonstrate the importance of Central Asia as a land rich in spiritual, cultural, and scientific legacy, to lay the foundation for new integrative initiatives, and to promote the idea of a shared cultural space across the region.
A preparatory meeting dedicated to the high-level organization of this major international event was held at the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, with the participation of representatives from relevant ministries and organizations.

During the meeting, the duties and responsibilities of each ministry and organization involved in the congress, as well as measures to ensure their effective implementation, were reviewed. Discussions also focused on organizing cultural and educational programs aligned with the spirit of the congress and holding thematic scientific discussions for participants and guests.
Bahrom Abduhalimov, Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, emphasized the scientific and spiritual significance of the congress, stating:



“This forum will further strengthen the common cultural roots of the peoples of Central Asia”.
The congress program includes a plenary session and several panel discussions, to be attended by international and local experts, scholars, and representatives of the fields of science and culture.




In addition, the congress will feature exhibitions, cultural programs, and presentations of academic publications.
The exhibitions will showcase the masterpieces of famous authors from Central Asian countries, screenings of artistic and documentary films, and photographic exhibitions by regional artists.
As part of the cultural segment of the international congress, Central Asia and Azerbaijan Film Days are also planned.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided to appoint responsible representatives from all agencies to ensure the implementation of assigned tasks and to establish a Special Coordination Headquarters for the congress.
According to the organizers, this event will not only expand dialogue among creators and scholars but also strengthen regional cultural ties and enhance Uzbekistan’s international standing.
