“It is very important that Uzbekistan is supporting research related to Islamic civilization,” said the UNESCO representative in Uzbekistan

The megaproject underway in Uzbekistan the Center for Islamic Civilization, initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and currently in its finishing and furnishing stages is being recognized as an important model for the global community.

Sara Noshadi, Head of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan:

“I am very pleased to visit this Center again. In fact, I have been here several times — I have been coming every year since 2022. Seeing the tremendous progress and the pace of development over this period has brought me great joy.

It is truly gratifying to witness the Center entering a new phase of its activity, with new directions being opened. I believe this initiative represents an exceptional effort in Uzbekistan to integrate science, culture, and religious heritage.

I also know well that the Center for Islamic Civilization is a major national project implemented under the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The President even highlighted this initiative in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

I consider Uzbekistan’s growing attention to research and scientific studies related to Islamic civilization to be a highly important experience for the entire international community.”
