A Modern Library Concept is Being Developed for Uzbekistan’s Megaproject

The library to be established at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is envisioned not merely as a collection of books, but as a scientific hub that integrates an intellectual environment, electronic systems, and modern conveniences. In this regard, a discussion was held dedicated to the library’s design and interior.

The discussion was attended by the First Deputy Director of the Center, Firdavs Halimov, the Director of the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, Umida Teshaboyeva, as well as leading specialists in the field. It is planned that the library will feature smart cloakrooms, a computerized electronic system, and comfortable workspaces for readers.

Special attention was given to technical equipment, material resources, interior design, and service quality. It was also noted that construction work is being carried out in close cooperation with library sector experts.

Currently, 26 scientific and innovative projects are being implemented within the library department. The new building is expected to house an electronic library system capable of serving 226 readers at once and holding a collection of nearly 125,000 books.
