Presenting our historical and spiritual heritage in the state language is a vital task
At the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, discussions were held on the importance of strictly adhering to the norms of the state language in museum exhibitions and presenting information about artifacts and exhibits in fluent and accurate Uzbek literary language.

On October 21, in honor of the 36th anniversary of granting the Uzbek language the status of the state language, a special event was organized at the Center. During the event, participants reflected on the legal status of the Uzbek language, its historical importance, and its role in society as a symbol of national identity.
On October 20, during his visit to the Center, the President of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of further strengthening the status of the state language and instructed that the nation’s rich historical and spiritual heritage be widely presented in the state language at the Center.
“Language is not merely a means of communication it is the reflection of a nation’s thinking, its spiritual world, and its moral identity. Therefore, as the Center for Islamic Civilization, we attach special importance to promoting the prestige of the state language in all our activities and to using Uzbek correctly and fluently in every inscription and scholarly text,” said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Center.

During the event, practical guidelines were given to implement the President’s directives ensuring that all exhibition materials fully comply with the norms of the state language, and that information about artifacts and exhibits is presented in clear, correct, and elegant Uzbek literary language.
It was also emphasized that all informational materials, documentaries, and presentations prepared at the Center should first be produced in Uzbek, and only then translated into other languages for international visitors as this will further strengthen the prestige of the state language.
Participants also recalled that October 21, 1989, when the Uzbek language was granted official state status, was a historic milestone for the nation. This decision, later reinforced through language policy and legislation, continues to consolidate the Uzbek language’s place in public life.
The event concluded with a call to further develop linguistic culture within the Center’s activities and to continue efforts to reflect the spiritual identity of the nation more vividly through the proper use of the state language.
