Belgian scholar: “It is a great honor for me to learn more about your rich history”

Although the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan has not yet been officially opened, it is already being recognized as a major initiative by distinguished guests and participants of international events visiting our country.
In particular, participants of the international conference organized by the Uzbekistan Dermatology Association also visited the Center built on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to observe the final stage of finishing and decorative works currently underway.

One of the conference participants, Belgian physician and professor Mila Balabanova, shared her impressions after touring the site and witnessing the completion process at the Center for Islamic Civilization:
“It is beyond doubt that this Center, which is expected to open in the coming months, will become one of the most remarkable cultural complexes in the world. Especially, the role of the Great Silk Road civilization in the history of humanity has been profoundly revealed here,” said Mila Balabanova.
“Last year, this complex was still under construction, and I dreamed of seeing it one day. Today, as I witness that even the final finishing works are nearing completion, I can say that the Center will turn out even more beautiful and impressive than I imagined. Every detail, ornament, and exhibit here reflects immense effort, knowledge, and love. Through the devoted work of the scientific team, history, culture, and art are presented in a harmonious unity. It is a great honor for me to become acquainted with your rich history in such a profound way.”
According to the professor, the Center not only evokes the memory of the past but also inspires future generations.
“This place will serve the progress of humanity by promoting children’s education, as well as the nation’s history and culture. In particular, the role of the Great Silk Road civilization in the history of mankind is revealed here with great depth. One feels spiritually enriched and senses moral elevation in this space,” she noted.
Mila Balabanova also spoke with deep respect about the hospitality of the Uzbek people, their rich cultural heritage, and ancient traditions:
“I am sincerely impressed by Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage, its traditions, the warmth of its people, and the unique beauty of this land.”
