Uzbekistan — a great center of civilization
The Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan has recently been gaining significant international attention. The number of visits by prominent scholars, political scientists, and cultural figures from various countries to the Center has been steadily increasing.
In recent days, the Center hosted Russian political scientist and international relations expert Timofey Bordachev. He became acquainted with the Center’s sections titled “The Pre-Islamic Era”, “The First Renaissance”, “The Second Renaissance”, and “New Uzbekistan — the Foundation of a New Renaissance”.
During his visit, Bordachev highly praised the original artifacts, innovative media projects, and the scholarly concept presented in the exhibition.
“I must say, this is an extraordinary experience. Just seeing this center is itself a great source of delight and knowledge. Although it has not yet been officially opened, this place is not merely a museum or an exhibition it is a true scientific and cultural institution”, he said.
The Russian scholar emphasized that the Center for Islamic Civilization is not only a museum or a library but also an international research platform of great relevance.
“This Center advances the study of Islamic civilization and demonstrates that modern Uzbekistan is a great center of civilization. Uzbekistan treats its history and cultural heritage with profound respect. Academician Barthold once wrote that the history of Turkestan is four times older than that of Russia and Europe. Today, being here, I have seen with my own eyes how true those words are”, said Timofey Bordachev.
At the end of the visit, the guest was ceremoniously presented with a book album from the series “The Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in World Collections”.
