A 65-metre wonder: secrets beneath the dome of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan
🔴A new symbol appears in Tashkent
🔴A miracle embodying sky, light, and knowledge
The Center of Islamic Civilization, whose construction is nearing completion in the capital of Uzbekistan, is set to become one of the largest spiritual and educational complexes not only in the country but in the entire region. At present, decoration and installation of exhibits are in full swing.
The most majestic and grand part of the complex is the 65-meter dome. It is not just an architectural marvel but also a structure of profound symbolic meaning.
The language of colors — harmony of sky and light
The dominant blue and turquoise colors of the dome symbolize the sky, spiritual purity, and serenity, while the golden ornaments represent grandeur and divine light. The white color lends an aura of purity and sanctity to the entire composition.
Shapes and patterns — symbols of divinity
The dome’s hemispherical shape represents the infinity of the sky, while the star-shaped patterns at its base symbolize stability and order. The girih geometric motifs represent divine order and infinity; the star patterns stand for knowledge and light, and the arabesque decorations convey the meaning of life and renewal.
Overall composition — a bridge between man and Allah
The gradual transition of color saturation from top to bottom evokes the image of “divine light descending to earth”. The perfect symmetry draws attention to the center, symbolizing the One Creator.
The dome of the Center thus rises not only as a masterpiece of architectural beauty but also as a symbolic bridge uniting sky and earth, knowledge and spirituality, divinity and humanity.
