130 nationalities, 16 faiths, one homeland – the experience of Uzbekistan is at the heart of the international forum!

The forum was organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies (ISRS) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the U.S.-based NGO “LYNC” (“Love Your Neighbor Community”), with the support of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Samarkand regional administration.
Nearly 50 leading experts, theologians, politicians, and representatives of international organizations from 15 countries are participating in the major event. Among them are prominent delegations from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Muslim World League, as well as from the USA, UK, China, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Key topics of the forum include:
◾️ Interfaith dialogue and tolerance,
◾️ Ensuring freedom of conscience,
◾️ Combating religious discrimination,
◾️ Strengthening interfaith trust and ensuring peace and stability in a time of intensifying geopolitical tensions.
Uzbekistan’s experience in promoting religious tolerance and interfaith harmony was given special attention at the forum.
It was noted that more than 130 nationalities and 16 religious denominations live peacefully together in the country. In addition, the adoption of the revised Law “On Freedom of Conscience” in 2021, the expansion of the Council on Religious Affairs, and the effective work of the Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, Imam Termizi Centers, and the Center of Islamic Civilization were highlighted.

According to ISRS Director Eldor Aripov, at a time when religious conflicts are intensifying around the world, this forum serves to unite representatives of different faiths based on mutual respect and tolerance.
“The main task of the forum is to strengthen international cooperation in promoting the culture of enlightenment and tolerance. The fact that we call the forum ‘Dialogue’ carries symbolic meaning: declarations are born when words gain power and intentions are aligned. But this path always begins with sincere dialogue – from such dialogue emerge initiatives, projects, and collaborations”, he said.
As part of the forum, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between ISRS and “LYNC”.
On September 11–13, off-site events, seminars, and practical meetings will be held in Samarkand. At the conclusion of the forum, an appeal to the international community will be adopted, consolidating proposals and recommendations on protecting the rights of religious minorities, combating discrimination, and promoting tolerance and peace.
