Gratitude on behalf of more than 1 million people: The result of the President’s initiatives
Opportunities created for people with disabilities at the Center of Islamic Civilization were examined.
Today, Kamil Abdullaev, Chairman of the Central Board of the Uzbekistan Society of Disabled People, Kahramon Hakberdiev, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Board of the Uzbekistan Society of the Blind, as well as representatives of public organizations, visited the Center of Islamic Civilization.
During the visit, the opportunities created for people with disabilities, the barrier-free environment, and the state of facilities were studied. This process is considered a logical continuation of the monitoring carried out several months ago.
“When we came a few months ago, there were certain shortcomings. We made proposals. But today, we see that all shortcomings have been eliminated. Convenient pathways for wheelchair users, tactile tiles for the visually impaired, modern elevators, and special indicators for citizens with hearing impairments have been created. We are sincerely pleased to see this”, said Kamil Abdullaev.
Kahramon Hakberdiev, in turn, emphasized that the center’s library has books in Braille, special equipment for people with visual impairments, computer technologies, and an audio book collection, noting that these opportunities create broad conditions for blind people to gain knowledge and actively participate in social life.
At the end of the visit, representatives of public organizations stressed that thanks to the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in recent years attention to people with disabilities has been raised to the level of state policy, and they expressed deep gratitude on behalf of more than one million citizens with disabilities living in the country.
