Euronews is highlighting Uzbekistan’s achievements in sports, the economy, and the social sphere

The prestigious international news agency Euronews has published an article highlighting Uzbekistan’s achievements in sports, the economy, and the social sphere.

The article describes the President’s visit to the newly built Olympic Town in Tashkent on the eve of Uzbekistan’s Independence Day, noting that this complex symbolizes the country’s major successes in sports. It emphasizes that the facilities were constructed based on energy-efficiency principles and, most importantly, acknowledges Uzbekistan’s recent sports achievements and the high results of its athletes.

The piece also touches on economic growth and social reforms, drawing attention to the steady economic growth observed as a continuation of wide-scale reforms implemented over the past seven years. According to the World Bank’s forecasts cited in the article, Uzbekistan’s GDP is expected to grow by 6.5% in 2025, while the International Monetary Fund estimates that the national economy will reach 130 billion USD this year.

In addition, the article notes that pensions, social benefits, and salaries of public servants have been increased, and thanks to the “Initiative Budget” project, citizens have been able to directly determine funding priorities in their regions. To date, more than 13,000 initiatives have been implemented, with over 11 trillion soums allocated for them.

The report also mentions the planned construction of a second international airport in Tashkent, highlighting that this step aims to boost the country’s transit potential and make the capital even more accessible to global passenger traffic.

Environmental restoration is presented as one of the key priorities, citing the “Green Space” program, which is carrying out large-scale afforestation projects on the dried-up Aral Sea bed and other regions.

In conclusion, the article emphasizes that Uzbekistan’s 34th Independence anniversary is being marked with tangible results. The Olympic Town, social reforms, environmental initiatives, and new infrastructure projects are strengthening New Uzbekistan’s path toward a modern economy, a developed society, and active international cooperation.
