An unexpected exhibit! A 600-year-old artistic marvel will be displayed at the museum of the Center of Islamic Civilization
🔴 The earliest traces of the formation of the Timurid era
🔴 A unique artifact from the 14th–15th centuries

A jewel of Central Asian ceramic heritage a pomegranate-shaped vessel decorated with a deer motif is coming to Uzbekistan.
The next artistic exhibit expected to be displayed soon at the Center of Islamic Civilization is a unique pomegranate-shaped vessel from the 13th–14th centuries, belonging to the Ilkhanid period, now awaiting museum enthusiasts.
This vessel, measuring 25.2 cm in height and 18.1 cm in width, attracts attention not only with its shape but also with the depiction of a deer and floral ornaments on its surface. It also reflects the influence of Chinese porcelain art, illustrating how extensive cultural exchanges were during that era.
The artifact is also evaluated as one of the earliest examples of the style later widespread in the 14th–15th centuries the Timurid white-and-blue ceramics. For this reason, it is considered an important source for studying the formative process of Timurid art.
It should be noted that ceramic objects from Mawarannahr dating back to the 13th–14th centuries are extremely rare. This unique vessel, currently preserved in the Aron Gallery collection (England), will soon be presented to the public in the “Second Renaissance” hall of the Center of Islamic Civilization.
