Special expeditions will be organized across the country to identify material and spiritual values
An online meeting was held at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan with the participation of the Ministry of Culture, the Agency for Cultural Heritage, the “Hunarmand” Association, and the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art.
The meeting discussed the preparations for the opening of the Center, as well as the organization of expeditions aimed at identifying material and spiritual values in various regions of the country.
The head of the Center, Firdavs Abdukholikov, noted that only a few months remained until the opening and emphasized the expanding cooperation with foreign museums and organizations, such as the Hermitage, the Miho Museum in Japan, the British Library, institutions in Turkey, and other countries, as part of this large-scale project.
“Only a few months remain until the opening of the Center of Islamic Civilization, which is being built at the initiative of our head of state. We must mobilize all resources and diligently fulfill the tasks entrusted to us. We are actively collaborating with foreign organizations such as the State Hermitage Museum of Russia, the Museum of the History of Religions, the Miho Museum in Japan, the Topkapi Palace in Turkey, the British Library, and others. We also receive constant support from several government and non-government organizations in our country. We express our gratitude to all,” he said.
Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov, in turn, stated that all institutions within the ministry’s system are ready to actively participate in enriching the content of the center’s exhibition.
The meeting also discussed the creation of copies of handicraft items related to Uzbekistan and stored in the Hermitage, to be displayed in the exhibition. It was announced that practical cooperation with the “Hunarmand” Association in this direction has begun.
Additionally, an agreement was reached to organize special expeditions consisting of representatives from the relevant ministries and agencies to identify material and spiritual values stored in the regions of the country.
