At the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, extensive work is underway on a number of unique artifacts brought from abroad, as well as nearly 40 manuscript works provided by the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. These priceless cultural heritage gems are expected to be displayed in the exhibition dedicated to the Khanate period, covering the history of Turkestan from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
Among the exhibits, particular importance is attached to books, wall paintings, suzani textiles, national costumes, and household items related to the history of the Shaybanids, Ashtarkhanids, Manghits, Ming, and Qongirat dynasties. They stand out not only for their historical significance but also for their artistic value.
Today, during an expanded meeting at the Center, project leaders, historians, art historians, ethnographers, and other specialists discussed the progress, plans, and proposals for the Khanate period exhibition. At the meeting, scholarly descriptions prepared for each showcase and artifact were presented, and labels and explanatory texts were reviewed.
Special attention was paid to the accuracy of historical facts. Even the smallest errors in chronology or place names were regarded by scholars as serious shortcomings and corrected based on reliable academic sources.
According to Dr. Dilnoza Jamolova,
five areas of expertise have been engaged to ensure a comprehensive and content-rich presentation of the exhibition. For example, art historians are preparing detailed information on wall paintings and suzanis, ethnographers on national costumes and household items, while historians are working on dynastic history and political events.

At the conclusion of the meeting, concrete tasks were defined for the full preparation of the halls. In particular, it was agreed to ensure the authentic and academically grounded presentation of the Khanate period exhibition, the orderly arrangement of exhibits, the accurate translation of texts, and the completion of exhibition design.
