In the “Second Renaissance” section of the museum exhibition at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, important decisions have been made regarding the placement of exhibits, label texts, and showcase design.
During a final-stage meeting with the participation of the heads and members of the working group, proposals were discussed concerning the visual style of unique works, manuscripts, artistic objects, and miniatures to be displayed in the sectors dedicated to Amir Temur, Shohruh Mirzo, Mirzo Ulugbek, Husayn Bayqaro, Alisher Navoi, Timurid princesses, and the Mughals. The group leader and members carefully studied the provenance, historical period, and scholarly value of each exhibit, exchanging views on how to enrich the information and make the content more engaging.
According to Khurshid Fayziev, director of the state Museum of Timurid History, candidate of historical sciences and associate professor,
“a final consensus has been reached regarding the arrangement of exhibits and their descriptive labels. This decision serves above all to enhance the scholarly and cultural value of the exhibition and to present it in accordance with global museological standards”.

The section’s concept envisions broad use of modern information technologies.
Information about each exhibit will be provided in Uzbek and English, while additional details will be accessible in seven languages via QR codes. In the sectors dedicated to Mirzo Ulugbek and Babur, interactive screens will display video materials about their lives, activities, and the art and culture of their times.
Among the valuable exhibits to be presented are:
- “Qur’an Folios Transcribed in the Time of Temur”
- “Hafiz-i Abru’s World Map”
- “The Armor of Ibrahim Sultan”
- “A Unique Robe from the Timurid Era”
- “The Badge of Shohruh Mirzo” (digital copy)
- “The Attire of Bibi Khanum”
- “Portraits of Timurid Princesses”
The sector portal designs are also noteworthy: the Amir Temur sector will feature the ornaments of the Bibi Khanum Mosque, the Shohruh Mirzo sector the decorations of the Gawharshodbegim Madrasa, and the Husayn Bayqaro sector the portal motifs of the Blue Dome in Mazar-i-Sharif. These solutions will allow visitors to feel the historical atmosphere more deeply.
According to experts, the integration of modern technologies with a rich historical heritage in the “Second Renaissance” section will make the Center of Islamic Civilization one of the most prestigious scholarly and cultural institutions not only in Uzbekistan but also on the international stage.
