Ancient fortresses, eternal fire, and digital education: A 3D view of Khorezm’s history
🔴 A Millennium-old civilization
🔴 The culture beneath the sands now shines on screens
The “Ancient Khorezm” exhibition at the Museum of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is expected to become an important venue not only for preserving archaeological heritage but also for presenting to the wider public, through modern technology, the cultural and scientific achievements that have developed over thousands of years.
A scientific-practical discussion was held in the Pre-Islamic Era section of the Museum of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, focusing on improving the concept of the “Ancient Khorezm” exhibition, the arrangement of exhibits, and visual solutions.
The meeting was attended by leading scholars and specialists of the Center, its scientific advisors, as well as a team of designers from the Turkish company “Outdoor Factory”.
During the discussion, several issues were addressed concerning the enhancement of the section’s educational, cultural, and visual aspects. The “Ancient Khorezm” exhibition is being equipped with modern and advanced museum technologies to allow visitors to experience the rich history of the region more closely. Through the models of Qoyqirilgan Qala and Oqchaxon Qala installed in the exhibition hall, visitors can explore the complex architectural structure, construction style, and defense system of these monuments. In addition, the model of “Chighir”, which demonstrates the ancient irrigation system, along with multimedia screens and interactive presentations, will provide visitors with detailed information about Khorezm’s ancient civilization, economy, and cultural life.
Under the leadership of Professor Mirsodiq Is’hoqov, the working group, in cooperation with designers, reviewed the placement of valuable exhibits related to the Zoroastrian period, the “Eternal Fire” composition, the lighting of images and photographs, the depiction of characters in video content, and the overall color harmony. At the same time, the list of exhibits was re-examined, and necessary adjustments were made to improve historical authenticity and visual appeal.
During the discussion, the educational and scientific importance of the exhibition was particularly emphasized. The project prioritizes reliance on historical sources, accurate presentation of archaeological findings, and the creation of an environment that not only captivates visitors visually but also provides them with knowledge.
As noted at the end of the meeting, the “Ancient Khorezm” exhibition should become an important platform not only for preserving archaeological heritage but also for conveying the cultural and scientific achievements developed over thousands of years to the public through modern technology. To this end, additional scientific research, design solutions, and multimedia technologies will be applied in harmony, with special attention to making this section one of the most striking and impactful parts of the Center’s exhibition.
