From the “Miraj-nama” to the bosom of the stars: final stage of analysis of unique decorations for the Second Renaissance scene
🔴 Shahrukh Mirzo’s tolerance and Mirzo Ulughbek’s stars in one exhibition
🔴 A project uniting history and technology
Nearly 2,000 scholars, experts, artists, designers, and representatives of various other fields working together toward a single goal are now reviewing projects in their final stage to enrich the exhibition of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.
At the latest meeting chaired by Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Center and Chairman of the Academic Council, one of the most debated topics was a miniature illustrating the theme of tolerance during the era of Shahrukh Mirzo, and a modern mapping show to be displayed in the Mirzo Ulughbek sector.
Members of the Academic Council recognized the double-page miniature from the Miraj-nama manuscript as a high example of tolerance. Experts noted that this work is valued not only as a national treasure but also as an important source in global art history, agreeing to depict it in the exhibition with vivid colors and precise details.
In addition, Hasan Solikhov, Director of Art Craft, presented a creative proposal for decorating the Mirzo Ulughbek Hall creating harmony between modern and historical elements by animating the movement of stars above the scholar’s portrait. This idea was approved by the meeting participants.
The miniatures of Hazrat Alisher Navoi and Husayn Bayqaro were also discussed. It was decided that Navoi’s depiction should be updated, while Husayn Bayqaro’s should be preserved in its current form. Experts stressed the need to work with utmost accuracy on facial expressions and fine details for each historical figure.
By the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the arrangement of the miniatures in the exhibition, along with several recommendations to ensure both aesthetic and historical harmony.
It should be noted that the construction of the Center of Islamic Civilization, initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has now entered its final stage. At present, more than 800 scientific and innovative projects have been developed to enrich its content.
