Where will the heritage of Amir Timur be kept?
The heritage of Amir Timur is unique and priceless, as one of the rarest documents that have come down to us. This decree is written on Samarkand paper in the Turkmen language with beautiful Nasta'liq script. Its size is one sheet (29x47 cm), and it consists of 11 lines. Over time, the paper has worn significantly, making it difficult to read some words.
On the right side of the first and third lines of the decree, there is a seal in the shape of an almond. In the center of the seal, in large letters, it says "Amir Timur Kuragon bin Taragay." Surrounding the seal, there are likely verses from the Quran written in small script, which are difficult to read.
This important document, belonging to the court of Amir Timur, is kept in the manuscript storage of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
In the book "The Turkmen Decree of Amir Timur" by B. Mannanov, G. Ostonova, and Sh. Kamolidin, the history of the discovery and study of the decree, its facsimile, the Arabic version of the text, and the modern Uzbek translation are discussed, along with scholarly comments and analysis of historical events.
