Special columns reflecting 3,000 years of statehood history: what, when, and where?

In the “New Uzbekistan – Foundation of the New Renaissance” section of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, special columns dedicated to the country’s 3,000-year statehood tradition are being installed. This initiative was announced during the Center’s latest Extended Scientific Council meeting.
Each column in the exhibition artistically and informatively represents a distinct historical period, reflecting its architectural style, cultural atmosphere, scientific achievements, and form of governance. The columns will feature replicas, facsimiles, and, when necessary, original copies of relevant historical sources.
One column, representing the era of the ancient civilizations of Khwarazm, Bactria, and Sogdiana, will feature the sacred Zoroastrian text Avesta. The following columns will highlight Turkic dynasties such as the Huns, Karluks, and the Turkic Khaganates, with references to the Orkhon-Enisei inscriptions and historical figures like Tonyukuk, Bilge Khagan, and Kultegin.

For the First Renaissance period, Qutadghu Bilig has been selected, while Temur’s Codes (Temur Tuzuklari) represents the eras of the Timurids, Shaybanids, and the Mughals. These works are featured as central elements of the exhibition.
The column representing modern statehood highlights the “New Uzbekistan” vision, the New Constitution adopted in 2022, its core principles, and the country’s entry into a new stage of development.
“These columns are not merely historical references; they serve to inspire national pride, intellectual reflection, and confidence in the future through the narrative of statehood evolution,” stated Rustam Jabborov, the Center’s scientific secretary, during the presentation.
This part of the exhibition aims to deliver a comprehensive visual, educational, and scholarly narrative, offering deeper insight into the essence of the “New Renaissance” concept.
