🔴 A wide-reaching presentation through BBC News

🔴 Retelling the story of Islamic art

🔴 Uzbekistan’s new cultural image

The Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, in cooperation with BBC News, is launching the international media project “Guardians of Heritage”.

This project will be presented to a global audience through one of the world’s largest and most trusted information platforms BBC News television and its official website.

The purpose of the project is to introduce Uzbekistan’s Islamic cultural heritage on a global scale, celebrating the intellectual and aesthetic richness of the Islamic world through unique artifacts, historical manuscripts, ceramics, and works of art from the Center’s collection.

The video materials prepared within the framework of the project will be broadcast 120 times over two weeks on BBC News across Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia. In addition, a dedicated webpage titled “Guardians of Heritage” will be created on the BBC platform, active for three years. It will feature text, photos, videos, and expert interviews.

The project will also showcase rare artifacts acquired from prestigious auctions such as Christie’s and Sotheby’s including swords from the era of Shah Jahan, Damascus blades, ceramic pieces, and ancient manuscripts presented as witnesses to key stages in the history of Islamic civilization.

According to BBC News representative Maria Tebyakina, the “Guardians of Heritage” project is not merely about displaying exhibits, but about retelling the story of Islamic art aesthetically, scientifically, and spiritually. The structure of the project is designed so that each artifact is revealed not only as a valuable museum object but also as a historical witness affirming civilization itself.

Today, BBC News has an audience of more than 465 million, ensuring the project’s extensive impact. The “Guardians of Heritage” initiative will serve not only as cultural diplomacy but also as a powerful opportunity to elevate Uzbekistan’s image in the global media space and bring it into closer dialogue with the world.
