Dated June 15, 1403, the letter sent by King Charles VI of France begins by affirming that, by the grace of the Creator, he is the king of the Franks. He extends greetings and wishes of peace to the great and victorious ruler, Temurbek. The message sought to establish trade and political relations between France and the state of Amir Temur, as well as to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.

In the letter, the king writes:

“We accept your undertakings and beneficial proposals, and we pledge to show them equal and even greater courtesy wherever possible”.
