Uzbekistan’s ambassadors abroad will assist in holding the Global exhibition at a high level
An online meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of the leadership of the Center of Islamic Civilization, ministry officials, and the country’s embassies abroad.
During the meeting, the state of preparations for the official opening ceremony of the Center, expected this year, was discussed. The Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, established on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will serve as an international scientific and educational hub and play an important role in widely promoting Uzbekistan’s spiritual and intellectual heritage to the world.
As noted at the event, it is planned to hold a Global Exhibition at the Center under the theme “Uzbekistan’s Cultural Heritage – the Property of All Humanity”. The exhibition will involve 43 prestigious foreign museums and libraries. With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, and the embassies, a list of nearly 1,000 exhibits from foreign collections has been compiled, including rare manuscripts, historical documents, and works.
The Center also plans to publish facsimile editions of about 200 manuscripts preserved abroad and display works related to scholars such as Abu Rayhan Beruni, Ibn Sina, Mirzo Ulughbek, Alisher Navoi, and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, as well as historical Qur’an copies. In addition, 61 important exhibits will be recreated as models, and the necessary guarantees, insurance, and showcase arrangements for their safe transportation, storage, and display have been prepared.
It was emphasized that this Global Exhibition will be an important event in further strengthening New Uzbekistan’s international standing and its scientific and educational potential.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bahromjon Aloev, who took part in the meeting, stated that ministry officials and representatives of Uzbekistan’s embassies abroad are ready to provide every possible support in holding the opening ceremony of the Center of Islamic Civilization and the Global exhibition at the highest level.
At the conclusion of the meeting, tasks were set for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassies to accelerate work in this direction and to strengthen cultural diplomacy.
