Intensive preparations underway for the 9th international congress “The great heritage of the past – the foundation of an enlightened future”

In connection with the opening of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Imam Bukhari Complex, intensive preparations are underway for the 9th International Congress titled The great heritage of the past – the foundation of an enlightened future, scheduled to be held this year.

This prestigious scientific event will bring together leading historians, orientalists, Islamic scholars, source researchers, and cultural heritage experts from around the world. The congress program will include plenary sessions, thematic section meetings, discussions of scientific projects, and presentations of the latest academic findings. Hundreds of reports will be delivered by special experts, and new approaches to historical sources will be examined.

As per tradition, the congress will also feature the presentation of volumes 81–90 of the book-album series “Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world”. This series provides scholarly descriptions of rare works and artifacts related to Uzbekistan’s historical heritage preserved in museums and libraries worldwide.

The 9th International Congress is attracting great interest not only within academic circles but also among the wider public. This is because the event will further highlight Uzbekistan’s contribution to the development of Islamic civilization, strengthen international scientific cooperation, and create new opportunities for discoveries and research.
