Not an exhibition – an interactive historical space
“Not just looking at the past, but fully experiencing it”. This principle is being followed in enriching the museum exhibition under development at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. The goal is for each visitor to understand history not only by seeing it, but also through hearing, reading, and feeling it.
“In the Pre-Islamic Era section of the museum at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, special information devices are being installed. Here, in addition to prepared texts for tour guides, individual information delivery technologies will operate in each sector. Some exhibits can even be experienced through scent”, says Anvar Matniyozov, the Center’s leading researcher and Doctor of Philosophy in Philological Sciences.
This approach demonstrates an interactive concept on par with international museums. Each hall has its own distinctive atmosphere, and none of them repeat one another.
“Our task is to create a historical space that will remain in the memory of foreign tourists and provide a unique experience. We are working seriously on this. The design work is now nearing completion. The exhibition will be fully equipped with unique artifacts arriving from various countries. Our leadership is also providing great support in this matter”, says A. Matniyozov.
