Pre-Islamic era civilizations in a modern interpretation
The new exhibition being created at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is not only a journey into history but also an opportunity to view the vast spiritual heritage predating Islam through a modern lens. At present, the process of forming the pre-Islamic era civilizations exhibition at the Center is in full swing. Historians, renowned experts, and Turkish designers are actively collaborating in this endeavor.
“The exhibition will comprise six sections: Ancient Bactria, Ancient Khorezm, Sogd, Fergana, and Chach civilizations, as well as a section on the ancient trade routes reflecting their interconnection and international significance”, said Dilafruz Karimova, head of department at the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan and Doctor of Philosophy in historical sciences.
At the same time, unique exhibits carefully selected from abroad are planned to be adapted for this exhibition. Among them are historical artifacts preserved in national museums that have not previously been included, which are now being selected based on a set list.
“Unlike before, the exhibition will now feature numerous new items and distinctive approaches”, the expert noted.
