More than 80 historical artifacts related to Uzbekistan are planned to be returned to our country

An official visit to the United Kingdom by a delegation led by Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, is planned.

As part of the visit, meetings are scheduled in London between members of the delegation and prominent figures working in the field of cultural heritage and major collectors including dealers such as Sarihani, Khalili, Bilal Sudchi, and Dawudshah.

One of the main goals of the visit is to advance scientific and innovative projects aimed at enriching the museum exhibition of the Center of Islamic Civilization, as well as to strengthen international cooperation for the repatriation of valuable historical artifacts related to our country.

A special exhibition is planned to be held in London, featuring artifacts acquired through world-renowned auction houses such as Sotheby’s and Christie’s. The exhibition will showcase more than 80 rare artifacts related to the history of Uzbekistan. It will also provide the international community with extensive information about Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage and the activities of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, established on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the preparation process for the exhibition, online meetings were held between the Center of Islamic Civilization and the auction houses Sotheby’s and Christie’s to discuss the display procedures, scholarly and historical substantiation, and legal aspects of the artifacts.

Such international collaborations play a vital role in restoring Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage and promoting it globally. Thanks to the country’s stable economic development and the government’s increased attention to cultural heritage, broad opportunities are being created to repatriate our historical treasures.

The globally renowned auction houses Sotheby’s and Christie’s possess expert systems that meet international standards for verifying the authenticity and historical value of each artifact, providing a five-year guarantee for every item purchased.
