Preparations for the opening of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan are progressing rapidly

At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, preparations for the opening of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan currently under construction are progressing consistently and at a rapid pace. This grand project is designed not only to impress with its architecture but also to fully reflect the nation’s rich historical and spiritual heritage through its content and essence.

In order to develop the Center’s content in a meaningful and modern manner, more than 2,000 local and international scholars, specialists, and experts are actively involved. To date, over 800 scientific and innovative projects have been developed, with implementation planned in three stages.

At a recent working meeting, extensive discussions were held on forming the museum exhibition and the library collection, as well as organizing the opening ceremony of the Center at the highest level. Tasks to be carried out in 15 main areas were reviewed. These include:

Expediting preparations for the opening ceremony, organizing activities within the conceptual framework systematically, and developing cultural programs;

Organizing a global exhibition under the theme “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan – a Treasure of All Humanity”;

Hosting the 9th International Congress “Legacy of Great Ancestors – Foundation of an Enlightened Future”;

Accelerating the implementation of innovative projects such as the “Wall of Time”, “Time Tunnel”, and “Time Capsule”;

Expanding the library collection, strengthening international cooperation, and acquiring rare exhibits;

Additionally, issues such as ensuring inclusivity in the Center’s operations and developing user-friendly infrastructure for guests with disabilities were discussed in detail.

At the conclusion of the meeting, specific measures were outlined to ensure the effective and timely implementation of the assigned tasks and to further strengthen international cooperation.

The Center of Islamic Civilization is expected to become a new symbol of scientific and spiritual advancement not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire Islamic world. The exhibition being created at this Center built at the initiative of our Head of State will prominently feature our people’s centuries-old traditions of science and enlightenment, including sections dedicated to the foundations of the Second Renaissance.
