Republican scientific-practical seminar of Uzbek scholars is being held

Within the framework of the nationwide educational campaign “Enlightenment Caravan” held under the theme “Civilization, Culture, and Enlightenment” at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, a national scientific-practical seminar is being conducted in cooperation with the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment and with the participation of Uzbek scholars. The seminar brings together scholars from across Uzbekistan, representatives of research institutions, and other related organizations.

This scientific-practical seminar has been organized to gather the opinions and suggestions of Uzbek scholars on enriching the exhibitions of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, which is being established on the initiative and under the vision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and to further accelerate efforts in this direction.

During his visit to the Center of Islamic Civilization on January 29 of this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the ongoing construction works and examined various scientific and creative, as well as scientific-innovative projects. He issued a number of instructions regarding future tasks. In particular, the Head of State emphasized that the internal content of the Center should be no less impressive than its architectural grandeur and proposed several key initiatives within the Concept.

To ensure the implementation of these directives, an extended meeting of the Board of Trustees for Supporting and Coordinating the Activities of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan was held on March 11 of this year. The meeting focused on the enrichment and development of the Center’s exhibitions.

During the meeting, a “Roadmap” was developed to effectively implement the key tasks assigned to the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and to elevate the Center’s operations to a new level.

Moreover, to fulfill the directives and priority tasks, a strategy was set to promote the scientific and educational legacy of great scholars, as well as their invaluable contributions to Islamic civilization, culture, spiritual and philosophical thought, and global scientific advancement. The initiative also includes studying the rich historical heritage of Islamic religion and culture preserved both in Uzbekistan and abroad, and collecting and researching the manuscript and lithographic works of prominent scholars.

Based on the “Civilizations–Figures–Discoveries” Concept, over 800 scientific and innovative projects have been developed within five thematic sections namely “Pre-Islamic Era”, “Qur’an Hall”, “First Renaissance”, “Second Renaissance Period”, and “New Uzbekistan – Foundation of the Third Renaissance” and across nine directions. The list of working groups for these efforts has also been approved.

To implement the directives defined during the meeting of the Board of Trustees, over 300 working group sessions and 18 Scientific Council discussions have been held to enrich and enhance the content of the exhibition at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

The technical specifications of these wide-ranging scientific and innovative projects which have brought together over 2,000 local and international scholars, artists, designers, craftsmen, and various other experts have been thoroughly discussed. Currently, the process of signing contracts based on the approved proposals is underway.

At the same time, to accelerate the practical implementation of these projects, a national scientific-practical seminar is being held as part of the nationwide “Enlightenment Caravan” campaign under the theme “Civilization, Culture, and Enlightenment”, organized across the republic during May and June of this year with the participation of scholars.

The goal of this seminar is to intensify the execution of the defined objectives aimed at improving the activities of the Center, to incorporate the insights and suggestions of Uzbek scholars regarding the museum exhibitions of the Center, and to ensure their implementation within the exhibition content.

Initiated by our Head of State, this unique and unprecedented megaproject in our nation’s history is dedicated to promoting our rich spiritual heritage. The Center holds significant importance in preserving and enriching Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural legacy, safeguarding its intellectual and moral potential, and fostering the younger generation in the spirit of national and universal values, thereby contributing to the material and spiritual development of society.
