The Director-General of ICESCO visited the Imam Bukhari Complex

At the invitation of Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, the Director-General of ICESCO, Dr. Salim M. Al-Malik, visited the newly constructed Imam Bukhari Complex and the innovative museum being built within its premises, initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

While familiarizing himself with the complex, the guest proposed several initiatives, including inviting Sheikh Dr. Nasser Al-Zahrani—who is known for his work in the field of hadith studies and the promotion of Imam Bukhari’s legacy to Uzbekistan, and having the first Friday prayer at the complex led by the Grand Imam of Mecca once it becomes operational.

Dr. Sheikh Nasser Al-Zahrani is one of the prominent scholars from Saudi Arabia, known for his contributions to Islamic teachings, particularly in the field of hadith studies and the preservation of Imam Bukhari’s legacy. He holds deep respect for the works of great muhaddiths such as Imam Bukhari and Imam Termizi and places great importance on safeguarding their heritage. According to available information, among his initiatives is the establishment of museums dedicated to Islamic history and science, where the works of Imam Bukhari and other renowned muhaddiths are showcased.

At the end of the visit, the Director-General of ICESCO extended an invitation to a delegation led by the Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan to visit Saudi Arabia in June.
