Around 20 miniatures have been selected for the "Wall of Time" exhibition of the Center of Islamic Civilization

A presentation was held at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan on the miniatures planned for inclusion in the “Wall of Civilizations and Discoveries”, part of the Second Renaissance exhibition.

According to artist Behzod Khojimetov, the wall where the miniatures will be placed measures 57 meters in length and 5 meters in height, including a 1-meter decorative ganch (plaster) element. A total of 16–18 miniatures will be displayed along the wall, and with double-page spreads considered, it will feature 21 miniatures in total.

Dr. Behzod Khojimetov, a PhD in Art Studies, presented the draft designs for the wall composed of miniatures.

“We spent nearly two months developing the draft of the miniature wall. The selected miniatures are based on the Herat, Bukhara, Samarkand, and Indian schools of miniature painting. Among the approximately 50 miniatures reviewed, there were also works done in the styles of Shiraz, Isfahan, and Tabriz, but we prioritized those depicting our own scholars and historical events. Scenes of hunting and warfare were excluded, as the wall’s concept focuses primarily on civilizations, individuals, and discoveries. The miniatures were selected in alignment with these themes. Given the scale of the mural, we plan to complete it in collaboration with around 100 artists. Today, we documented the opinions and feedback of many scholars regarding the miniatures, and based on their input, we will implement some adjustments,” the artist noted.
