An article about the Center of Islamic Civilization was published in an Indonesian publication
Indonesia’s Antara news agency has published an article titled “The Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan: Heritage and knowledge”, according to a report by the “Dunyo” News Agency.
The publication states that the Center was established in accordance with a decree issued by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on June 23, 2017, and that the foundation stone of this grand complex was laid during the Ramadan holiday in 2018.
It is emphasized that the Center’s activities are aimed at preserving Islam, studying, and supporting the great contributions of scholars and thinkers in Islamic history.
“The Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan was established to promote humanism, respect for national history, and tolerance in society, as well as to strengthen social stability and interfaith harmony”, the article states.
As highlighted, the majestic building of the Center consists of three floors and is constructed in the style of Uzbekistan’s ancient architectural monuments. The harmonious blend of national domes, portals, and intricate ornamentation gives the building a unique beauty and grandeur. “The main part of the Center will feature the Qur’an Hall, which will house one of the spiritual treasures of the Muslim world – the ancient Mushaf of Uthman”, the publication notes.
The article further underscores that promoting spiritual and educational dialogue, developing intercultural and interfaith communication, and strengthening cooperation with international organizations, particularly UNESCO and ICESCO, are among the Center’s key priorities.
