A new media project dedicated to prominent figures of Uzbek science of the 20th century will be launched
The study of the legacy of scholars who played a key role in the development of science in Uzbekistan and the popularization of their scientific achievements is one of the pressing tasks of today. To this end, the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is launching a new media project dedicated to the prominent figures of Uzbek science in the 20th century.
The project, titled "The Contribution of Uzbekistan's Intelligentsia to the Development of Science in 1917–1991," will be implemented in cooperation with the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations, the "Uzarchive" agency, the National Center for Cinematography, and the Ministry of Health.
The main goal of the project is to present the lives and rich scientific legacy of Soviet-era scholars and to communicate their major achievements to a broad audience in a modern and accessible way. The project will be carried out in two stages. The first stage will involve the preparation of videos, unique photographs, archival documents, and exhibits dedicated to scholars who made significant contributions to the development of science in Uzbekistan from 1917 to 1991. Among them are renowned scholars such as the founder of modern mathematics and physics in Uzbekistan, the first president of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Toshmuhammad Kori-Niyazi; outstanding physicist Ubay Oripov, prominent archaeologist Yahya Gulomov, zoologist Tesha Zakhidov, the founder of cardiovascular surgery in Uzbekistan, Vosit Vakhidov, and others.
The project includes the creation of videos, photographs, and archival documents that will allow a wide audience to familiarize themselves with the lives and work of these scholars, as well as their significant contribution to world science.
Furthermore, the project aims to preserve and pass on valuable scientific heritage to future generations and to educate the youth in the spirit of respect for our historical and scientific heritage.
