Meeting of the Scientific Council of the Center of Islamic Civilization: A New Approach to the Quran Hall, Light Installations, and New Publications

At the meeting of the Scientific Council, the joint project between the Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan and the World Society for the Preservation, Study, and Promotion of Uzbekistan's Cultural Heritage was discussed — the publication of volumes 81-90 from the book-album series “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.” Information was also presented regarding seven gift book-albums that are being prepared for release.

At the meeting, the members of the Scientific Council also approved the new design for the Quran Hall.

"The Quran Hall occupies a central place in the building, so special attention is given to its design. We presented two options for a light installation to be placed above the arch where the Usman Quran will be displayed. The best option was selected during the meeting," said Azimjon Gafurov, a staff member of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

As part of the major project initiated by the Head of State, the goal of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is to widely present the contributions of our ancestors to world civilization, to educate the youth in the spirit of loyalty to this great historical heritage, to conduct scientific discussions and debates, promote relevant ideas and discoveries, and create all necessary conditions for the development of new scientific content. In line with these directives, over 2,000 local and international scholars and experts have come together to enrich the Center's exhibition with meaningful content, historical artifacts, and replicas.

Over 800 projects have been developed and will be implemented in three stages. The first stage has already begun, during which more than 400 projects are actively being discussed and carried out in cooperation with the members of the Scientific Council, and the work is progressing effectively.
