Returned cultural assets: Extensive preparations are underway as part of the preparations for the opening of the major project

Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization, spoke about the international exhibition that will be held as part of the opening of the major project in Uzbekistan, as well as the manuscripts and exhibits that will be brought from abroad. He emphasized that extensive work is underway to involve museums and libraries from foreign countries, as well as private collection owners, in this exhibition.

"From April 25 to May 2, we selected 46 lots related to Uzbekistan's cultural heritage at the 'Sotheby’s' and 'Christie’s' auctions in the United Kingdom. Negotiations are currently underway regarding the purchase and delivery of these items to Uzbekistan. We must inform the global scientific community that we are reclaiming this historical heritage. Therefore, we plan to hold international events on this matter in the United Kingdom and France," said Firdavs Abdukhalikov.

Members of the Scientific Council approved the list of Uzbek scholars and experts who will participate in these international events.

Alisher Egamov, a research fellow at the Center of Islamic Civilization, presented information about the historical artifacts selected for the Center’s exhibition from museum collections across various regions of Uzbekistan. As a result of the expeditions organized in March and April, 1,551 historical items were discovered. Among these, the finest pieces, representing various periods of our history, will be showcased at the international exhibition dedicated to the opening of the Center.

Additionally, the agenda included the issue of creating a scientific and practical base for dual-type media projects for the Center’s exhibition. Council members shared their opinions on several other matters.
