As part of the megaproject in Uzbekistan, there are plans to explore the pre-Islamic period as well.
In order to familiarize the wider public with the cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage of the pre-Islamic period in Uzbekistan, the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is developing a unique project called the "Wall of Time."
This wall will depict the earliest stages of the country's history — the pre-Islamic period, ancient cities, mythological figures, and the culture of that era. This initiative will help the public engage with history not only through documents but also through visual arts.
This week, extensive and lively discussions were held regarding the works that will be featured on the "Wall of Time." The discussions involved historians, art critics, archaeologists, and members of creative teams, who conducted an in-depth analysis of the historical validity of the works, their aesthetic requirements, and expressiveness.
Academician of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Azamat Khotamov, speaking about the significance of the project, emphasized:
— The wall will not just feature paintings or symbols. It will be a complete story. We are working in collaboration with historians. Artistic works are being created on the walls based on a chronological sequence. The paintings presented within the project are analyzed by historians, and we enrich them with the means of art. As a result, a perfect work of art is created. Here, philosophy, history, and truth are harmoniously combined.
As a result of the discussions, it is expected that each scene of the "Wall of Time" will be further enriched in content, expressed based on historical truth, and will be significant both aesthetically and spiritually for the general public.
