Unique masterpieces related to Uzbekistan have been identified in London.
Representatives of the delegation, led by the head of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Ali Sarikhani, the head of the famous Sarikhani collection.
Ali Sarikhani was born in Iran and moved with his family to London in the late 1970s. There, he started his entrepreneurial activities and founded his rich collection.
Currently, the Sarikhani collection holds over a thousand unique artifacts related to the history of Eastern peoples. Among them are numerous items directly related to the history and culture of Uzbekistan. The collection contains dozens of ancient artifacts and rare manuscripts from the eras of the Seljuks, Samanids, Kharezmshahs, and Timurids.
Uzbek researchers have shown particular interest in rare pages of the Quran, a miniature from the work "Mirajnama," created in 1438 in Herat during the reign of Shah Rukh Mirza, as well as items of folk applied art.
- Several years ago, I visited Uzbekistan and was charmed by the rich culture, centuries-old traditions, and values of your people. At auctions in various countries, I always try to acquire ancient items related to Uzbekistan. The culture and history of your country have always fascinated me, - noted collector Ali Sarikhani.
The head of the Uzbek delegation invited Ali Sarikhani to the opening ceremony of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, which will take place this year. They also discussed organizing an exhibition of items related to Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
The scientific trip of the delegation to the United Kingdom continues.
