A miniature depicting the last moments of the life of Shahidqirona has been found.
A miniature depicting the final moments of the life of Sahibqirona (Tamerlane) has been discovered. This miniature was extracted from the manuscript of the work "Temurnama," created in the early 16th century by the famous Persian-Tajik poet Abdurahman Jami and his grandson Abdullahi Khotifi, who was also a renowned literary figure.
This miniature is currently housed in the National Library of Iran.
Abdullahi Khotifi, a prominent representative of Timurid literature, was born in 1454 in the village of Kharchird, located in the Jom region of Iran. His work was heavily influenced by his grandfather, the famous poet Abdurahman Jami. Following in the footsteps of great thinkers such as Nizami, Dehlavi, Jami, and Navoi, he created his own "Khamsa" (Five Books), one of which is "Temurnama," dedicated to the global greatness of Amir Timur.
Abdullahi Khotifi's "Khamsa" consists of the following works: "Layli and Majnun," "Shirin and Khosrow," "Haft Manzar," "Temurnama," and "Futuhati Shahi" (or "Shahnameh"). One of his most accomplished works is his "Layli and Majnun," dedicated to Alisher Navoi. In the preface of the work, there is a special section titled "Dar Ta'rifi Mir Alisher," confirming that the work was dedicated to Navoi, the great poet and ideal of Abdullahi Khotifi.
Navoi was one of the closest and most talented students of Abdullahi Khotifi, and the poet highly valued his teacher. Navoi supported him at all stages of his creative and personal life, and thanks to Navoi's support, Abdullahi's creative work continued to develop. Navoi's influence on the literary environment of Khorasan and his contribution to the world of art, science, history, and culture were immense, inspiring Abdullahi Khotifi to create his works.
In the later years of his life, Abdullahi Khotifi lived during the reign of the Safavids. Shah Ismail Safavid supported the poet. When the poet fell ill, Shah Ismail visited him and inquired about his condition. In the final years of his life, the poet wrote the epic "Ismailnama" in honor of Shah Ismail, but according to available records, this work was never completed. Abdullahi Khotifi passed away in 1521.
