The books donated by Alisher Usmanov will be placed in the Center's library, and their total number amounts to nearly 5,000 copies.

The books donated by Alisher Usmanov will be placed in the library of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. This was announced by the director of the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan, Umida Teshaboyeva, at the recent meeting of the Scientific Council.

In 2020, Alisher Usmanov donated approximately 5,000 books to the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. Currently, these books are temporarily stored in the collection of the Abu Rayhon Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies.

"Among these books are various works in different forms and genres. Unlike other libraries, books in the Center's library will be stored in open stacks. There will be no glass doors on the shelves. Readers will be able to freely use the books. Visitors will serve themselves. The library will house rare books, access to which will not be restricted. Special attention will be given to protecting the books, and special devices will be installed to protect them from bacteria. The printed collection of the library will consist of 30,000 books, while the electronic collection will include 350,000 books. Additionally, some books will still be added to the collection. A specialized course on source studies will also be opened at the Center's library. Furthermore, the library's collection will include books written in Louis Braille's script, as well as audiobooks. The library will be a modern, wide-ranging institution that will also serve foreign guests," said Umida Teshaboyeva.
